Charles Rangeley-Wilson’s book Silt Road looks at the marginal nature of the river Wye in Buckinghamshire, a chalkstream now lost under concrete and tarmac as it passes beneath High Wycombe.

Burnham Beeches is an ancient beechwood which has been owned by the Corporation of London since the Middle Ages and has somehow managed to survive. Its proximity to the film studios of (Pinewood, Shepperton Bray) have made it a popular filming location, which movies such as Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, The Crying Game, Goldfinger and two of the Harry Potter’s shot here.
